Overview

The Diploma in International Hospitality Management is a unique program designed to train and develop future leaders of the hospitality industry. This program is affiliated to American Hotel & Lodging Association and National Restaurant Association. The course duration is spread over 2 years with a 1 year internship (optional). The course provides students a balance of academic and practical skill learning built on a foundation of strong work ethics, positive attitude, values and understanding culture and a desire for excellence, all of which are then applied to real world situations through an internship at one of AHA-IHMS industry partner properties.

Entry requirements

  • The minimum qualification for admission is 10+2 system of Senior Secondary Education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subjects
  • The maximum age limit is 25 years for candidates as on 1st July, 2013
  • The applicant should be medically fit and the same should be certified by a registered medical officer

Duration

The course duration is of 2 years + 1-year internship (Optional). Six months industrial training is included in the third semester.

Aim

The Diploma in International Hospitality Management covers operational courses in Rooms Division, Food & Beverage and Housekeeping. The course experience prepares the students to adapt to changing circumstances and supports them in working successfully in multi-cultural environments. These abilities are highly valued employability traits within the hospitality industry.
